Port of Sundhaven
The Port of Sundhaven is the principal mainland ferry terminal for the Purple Isles and a commercial port under development on the east coast of the Free Duchy of Anglien, at Sundhaven. Since the close of the war it has carried the main passenger and vehicle traffic between the Anglien mainland and the island chain.
The port handles roll-on/roll-off and passenger ferries to Montrial and the wider Purple Isles, along with the eastern districts' commercial fishing landings. The crossing to Montrial is the shortest scheduled ferry route between the mainland and the island chain.
A multi-year program funded in large part by CATO reconstruction grants after the Natopian intervention in Anglien aims to expand the harbor into a general commercial port for the eastern coast. Planned and partly completed works include deepened harbor approaches, new quays, a roll-on/roll-off berth, a rebuilt passenger terminal, an upgraded road to Bergbuurg, and a branch rail line connecting the port to the inland Anglien network. Full development is expected to take several years.
