Mart Hil'jandé is a Novatainian former-footballer who last played for Biulya äqi Jedu FC in Craitland. Primarily a right-back, but also capable of playing at centre-back, he won multiple domestic and international titles at club level and was a member of Novatainia's victorious 2012 Copa Apollonia squad.

Career

Club

Although born in Novatainia, Hil'jandé's professional career began in Riponia upon signing for Marton-le-Moor Wanderers in 2006 at the age of 23; joining the club ahead of the Riponian Premiership's inaugural season. After two trophy-less seasons with the Wanderers, the league was disbanded due to Riponia's demise and the defender was left without a team. Following a successful trial, Hil'jandé agreed terms with Tellian Serie A champions FC Fiorecittà and signed in 2008. During his time with I Bianchi, he was utilised in a rotation policy and played a notable part in winning the league in his first season, though his second title came during a season when he was behind Lee Nam-Hwan in the manager's plans, and subsequently played less.

At the culmination of the 2011 season, Hil'jandé was permitted to leave Fiorecittà and signed for Craitish League 1 side Biulya äqi Jedu FC on a free transfer. He was given the number 2 shirt and was established as the side's starting right-back, to replace the retired Martin Óma-ó-Täó, for the 2012 season. Despite a difficult start to his time in Craitland, he improved and was an integral member of the team during their most successful period in the following seasons. Hil'jandé was a reliable regular starter as BäJ won the 2014 King's Cup before sealing an unprecedented treble success in 2015 of a league title, WMFA Champions' League and FMF Champions' League. Hil'jandé maintained his starting place into the following year, where the club won a second confederational title, before choosing to call time on his eleven-year playing career after the end of the 2017 season, aged 34.

International

Hil'jandé received his first international call-up for Novatainia for the 2010 FMF World Cup qualifiers after a strong domestic showing and was included in the squad for the finals after helping the team qualify. Hil'jandé started all three of the team's group matches, in an unfamiliar central defensive role alongside Peter Morrowind, as they conceded only one goal but finished bottom of their group with two points.

After narrowly failing to advance from 2011's qualifiers, 2012 saw Hil'jandé play a major part as Novatainia kept two clean sheets in the 2012 FMF World Cup but miss-out on making the knock-out stages, before being part of an impervious defence which conceded just one goal in five matches as they became the first nation to win the Copa Apollonia later in the year. After another successful qualifying campaign, Hil'jandé played his part in helping the team advance to a second Copa Apollonia final, where they lost 1–0 to Hurmu, but once again was unable to successfully push the team through that year's World Cup's group.

The 2013 tournament would be Hil'jandé's last at the highest stage, with Novatainia's ageing squad and new members gaining strength leading to the side being unable to finish better than third in a qualifying group for the following three years. Novatainia was declared dead later in 2016 and Hil'jandé gained eligibility to represent Passas as a result, but chose not to represent any other nation than his homeland prior to his retirement in 2017.
