Libro Aquæ
The Libro Aquæ, or "Book of Waters," constitutes the spiritual cornerstone and main holy scriptures of the Melusinian faith, a sacred anthology of texts that outlines the religion's doctrines, ethics, rituals, and narratives. This compilation is divided into two primary sections: the Tetrad and the Song of Aldin, each contributing uniquely to the faith's theological and moral fabric.
The Tetrad
The Tetrad forms the foundational theological framework of the Melusinian religion, comprising four books named after different shades of blue, symbolizing various aspects of water and reflecting the multifaceted nature of the deity Melusine. These texts include:
- The Book of Aquamarine: Regarded as the philosophical core, it discusses the creation of the universe, Melusine's essence, and the principles of justice, compassion, and resilience.
- The Book of Sapphire: This book examines the relationship between humanity and the divine, advocating virtues like humility, wisdom, and devotion, and offering guidance on ethical living and community cohesion.
- The Book of Azure: Dedicated to rituals and rites, it serves as a comprehensive guide to Melusinian ceremonies, including birth, marriage, and death rituals, along with instructions on prayers and meditations.
- The Melusinian Epistles: A collection of letters, sermons, and dialogues that contextualize and interpret the faith's teachings across different eras, ensuring their continued relevance and accessibility.
The Song of Aldin
The Song of Aldin constitutes the second major part of the Libro Aquæ. It is a poetic and narrative compilation recounting the life and teachings of Prophet Prophet Aldin, chosen by Melusine to unveil her divine essence to the world of Micras. The Song of Aldin is rich in allegory, with songs, poems, and tales that encapsulate themes of faith, love, courage, and divine fellowship.
