Jason Villemuer (born 1994) is a Dauian professional football manager who manages Daau Super League side Pahak City Sailors. Jason is a former player who played as an attacking midfielder. A journeyman career, Jason plyed his trade mainly in Mataba, signing for Mataba DPMM in his youth before moving to giants Sultan FC in 2022.

Playing Career

A wide playmaker known for creativity since his youth days, Jason penned his first pro contract aged 20, signing with D League side Warriors SC in 2004, having a 4 year stay at the Seragaan Club, scoring 9 goals in 43 appearances. In the summer of 2018, Jason earned a move to fellow Daau League side Mataba DPMM following the club's internal restructure. Jason was hailed as their best Dauian player during his rookie year for his offensive output during their deep promotion run, helping the Royals challenge the promotion playoff fixtures but ultimately coming short following a 1-0 loss to Salawak Crocs FC. The 2019–20 season was rather unforgiving to Jason, as the Dauian playmaker saw his season be hampered by managerial changes and minor injuries, causing limited gametime and exposure. Villemuer surprisingly accepted a 2-year contract extension with the Royals, extending until 2022. However a fallout with the club management in May 2021 saw Villemuer submit a mutual termination request and departed the club. On August 2021, Jason was announced as the Sultan FC's latest arrival.

The Dauian midfielder signed for Sultan FC on a 2 year Cr 1m contract. An early ACL tear in the season saw Jason sidelined until the near end of the 2021–22 season. Jason departed the club following mutual termination oncemore, moving back to Daau to sign with Daau League side Seragaan Insurance FC. On January 2022, Villemuer signed a 1.5 year contract with fellow Daau League challengers Turmil Başakheşir, managed by Emre Belzoğlu, a former teammate of Jason during his Mataba DPMM days. Jason would depart the Owls following another major MCL tear, annoucing his retirement from football on 1 September 2023.

Managerial Career

Thampines Rovers

Jason was hired as the Head Coach for Thampines Rovers' Under-21's team as he held a DAFA "A" license prior to signing his first managerial contract.

Daau

Hired by Shahlid Shah as his assistant manager, Jason joined the Daau national football team coaching setup on the 28th of December 2023, signing for 2 years with the association. Following Shahlid Shah's resignation as manager of the national team, Jason was poised as the interim manager ahead of the 2024 Copa Apollonia qualification window and saw him claim a debut 4 to 2 victory over neighbours Zeed in a statement fixture. The Eastern Stars would go on to finish 2nd in their group and advanced to the 2024 Copa Apollonia qualification playoffs, defeating Victoria 3-2 over two legs to claim their spot at the 2024 Copa Apollonia. The Eastern Stars would sadly crash out of the Copa Apollonia following a valiant group stage performance, narrowly falling short to Senya in a 3-1 defeat during the playoff rounds.

Jason's contract would be extended as he was named as the full-time manager of the Daau national football team. Villemuer's switch to a 3-4-2-1 brought Daau success during their 2025 FMF World Cup qualifying run, topping group C to book their ticket to Tellia. A 4th place finish in Group C of the final tournament saw Daau exit the tournament early despite claiming their first World Cup victory over Çakaristan and a heroic 0-0 draw to former champions Mercury, with custodian Mukundan Maran hailed for his shotstopping ability. Villemuer was heavily criticized for his lack of flexibility during their World Cup appearances, oftentimes failing to adapt to high-pressing opponents. The surprise inclusion of Gary Stephan was also heavily questioned due to the veteran's ability off the ball.

Villemuer agreed to depart from his role at the Daau Football Association as the national team head coach on the 1st of January 2026. Despite the Football Association trying their best to tie Villemuer down to a new deal, the young pragmatist reportedly turned down a Cr 1m p/a deal.
