Imperial republic

The idea behind an imperial republic is an empire with a semi-Republican form of government in the way of the legislature. The logic behind this idea is that the nobles of the legislative council represent the people in their fiefdom, but are not elected by them. The only known existing micronation that is an imperial republic is the Imperial Republic of Shireroth. Natopia had, for a time, been an imperial republic as well.

With the instatement of the New feudalism, the process of the imperial republic changed slightly: under new feudalism, the people choose by way of Feudal contract who was to speak for them in the Landsraad. However, new feudalism was nominally repealed during the slump of 2006, and its last remnants were swept away by Kaiser Mors V during the Great Consolidation of November 2007; new feudalism was replaced by a variant of old-style imperial republic.
