Brookshire is the eldest duchy of Shireroth, due to its pre-Shirerithian origin. As of the Kalirion Fracture, it is the sole duchy still under the Imperial control. It is styled as "The Imperial Duchy of Brookshire" since the years of Ayreon IV, as the ducal throne has been held simultaneously with the Golden Mango Throne.
History
The Duchy of Brookshire was a key force behind the founding of Shireroth, being the seat of power for Raynor I during his years of conquest across eastern Benacia
Economy
Military
From 1683 AN until 1695 AN, Brookshire's warfare capacity was distributed among three services:
- Ŝḥenĉeł'yh - an independent land warfare service that fights using Laqi hybrid warfare tactics and sworn personally to the Duchess.
- Her Imperial Highness's Brookshirian Auxiliary Service - logistics and combat support service under the control of the ducal government.
- Circle Militias - conventional land warfare service recruited and trained by Brookshire's circles, and then operationally transferred as necessary under another force's command.
In late 1695 AN, the latter two services were reorganized into a new Brookshirian Ducal Army. This move was taken in anticipation of the drawing down of occupation forces in the Guttuli and a realignment of priorities for future deployments. This drawdown was complete by VI.1697 AN, with residual Brookshiran troops assigned under Guttulinese operational command.
Brookshirian Ducal Army
For administrative purposes, units of the Brookshirian Ducal Army are organized according to their depot location, through which recruitment, training, and supply are conducted. These units are then assigned to operational commands, or Associations. In 1698 AN, the BDA deploys three associations: The Dolorous Association, the Isenbury Association, and the Woodshire Association.
Combat units are organized into Gauht (Pr. "Cohort"), while logistics units are organized into Studa (Pr. "Support").
