Background
Floria First! is a nationalist-populist political campaign in Floria, aligned with the United Party of the Republic UPR. It promotes a Floria-first ideology, emphasizing national sovereignty, cultural conservatism, economic protectionism, law-and-order, and territorial expansionism. The campaign draws inspiration from Michael Hutchinson's short lived second term also coming under the same name and Trumanist nationalism.
It is Ronald Trueman Jr.'s first and only presidential election campaign as he is ineligible for a second term despite his first term being shorter than a conventional one. Since becoming President, Trueman Junior has struggled to rally Congress into passing laws as Congress members were elected under a different mandate, the one under Michael Hutchinson. Trueman also faced competition from the Florian National Vanguard Party over many subjects but the Vanguard Party was banned from participating in the election over fears of "Democratic destruction".
In response, the 1750 version of Floria First! was released in 1747 during the UPR Primaries under Trueman's and his father's vision.
Political positions

Social
Abortion
Floria First! maintains a pro-life stance, advocating for strict limitations on abortion access across Floria. The campaign emphasises the protection of unborn children and frames abortion as contrary to traditional family and moral values. It supports the promotion of alternatives to abortion, such as adoption programs and expanded family support initiatives. Additionally, Floria First! seeks to limit public funding for abortion services and opposes external influence that promotes liberal reproductive policies. The party’s position aligns with its broader cultural conservatism and commitment to traditional Florian social norms.
LGBTQ+ Rights and Protections
Floria First!holds a socially conservative position regarding LGBTQ+ rights, emphasising traditional Florian cultural and family norms. The party does not actively promote the expansion of LGBTQ+ protections and generally opposes legislation that would mandate the recognition of non-traditional relationships in areas such as marriage or adoption. While not advocating for overt criminalisation, Floria First! favours policies that prioritise traditional family structures and religious institutions over progressive social reforms. The party frames this stance as part of its broader commitment to preserving Florian cultural identity, moral values, and societal stability.
Education
Following the abolition of the Department of Education under the Hutchinson administration, Floria First! advocates for an education system that is largely decentralised, with greater autonomy granted to local authorities and private institutions. The campaign emphasises the promotion of Florian national identity, culture, and traditional values in all educational settings. Curricula are expected to prioritise Florian history, language, and patriotic values, while minimising the influence of progressive or foreign ideologies. Floria First!/UPR supports parental choice and private initiatives in schooling, framing education as a means to cultivate loyalty to Florian traditions, strengthen societal cohesion, and maintain conservative family and community structures in the absence of centralized federal oversight.
East Florian reconstruction
The movement emphasises targeted initiatives to address poverty, particularly in East Floria, which was severely affected by the civil war. Efforts include state-supported reconstruction programs and incentives for private investment to revitalize local economies, rebuild infrastructure, and create employment opportunities. Financial assistance for displaced families, housing reconstruction, and support for small and medium sized enterprises are central to this approach. Priority will be given to Florian citizens and communities to strengthen social cohesion and prevent foreign exploitation of local resources.
Immigration and border security
Floria First advocates for strict immigration and border control measures to safeguard national security, economic stability and cultural cohesion. The movement supports rigorous screening and vetting procedures for all immigrants and refugees, prioritising those who can integrate into Florian society and contribute to local communities. Border security is emphasised along land frontiers with Cakaristan and Shireroth, as well as maritime approaches, to prevent illegal crossings and protect Florian resources. Floria First frames its approach as a means to preserve Florian identity, uphold societal stability, and maintain control over the country’s demographic and economic development.
Drug Policy
Floria First under Trueman Jr. adopts a strictly prohibitionist approach to drugs, favouring criminalisation over legalisation. The movement emphasises law and order, framing drug use as a threat to public safety, social cohesion and moral standards. Enforcement measures focus on deterring production, distribution and consumption of controlled substances, while also supporting rehabilitation programmes for individuals affected by addiction. The party opposes the liberalisation of drug laws and resists international pressures that might encourage legalisation, arguing that strict drug control is essential to protecting Florian communities and upholding societal stability.
Family & child policy
Floria First emphasises the importance of traditional family structures as the cornerstone of Florian society. The movement supports policies that strengthen family stability, including measures to assist parents, promote family centred education, and encourage active parental involvement in children’s upbringing. Social programmes target the wellbeing of children, particularly in regions affected by poverty or conflict, such as East Floria, offering housing support, childcare assistance and access to healthcare. Floria First frames family and child policy within a broader cultural and moral framework, aiming to reinforce Florian values, social cohesion and intergenerational continuity.
