Flag of Moorland
The flag of Moorland was unveiled on 5.II.1716, even before Hurmu had officially accepted or annexed Moorland as a district of Hurmu. The flag features the colours of Nova England, with the sun from Hurmu's flag in the centre, surrounded by a green circle. Ecgwynn, daughter of Angenlaf, and Lady of the Holy Lakes, proposed the design to an outreach officer of the Order of the Holy Lakes, after the subject of the Moorland settlement was raised during the census of the encampment of which Ecgwynn was a part. According to the outreach officer, the red-green-blue concoction represented the ties to Nova England, as well as blood (the sacrifices made by the people of the region), green (for the reclamation of the Green), and blue (the wide blue ocean next to which the district lies). Moreover, the sun of Hurmu is encircled, denoting its exclave status as a district of Hurmu.
The flag became quickly popular in Moorland, and it was seen in a make-shift motorcade of Green Einhorns driving into the fallen city of Arevacía (now renamed Newhaven) with flags being flown from the many flags. For this reason, the Green Einhorns nominated Lady Ecgwynn as the new district's first minister for culture. The Chancellor of the Senate, Li Naomiai, quickly sent a message vetoing this, having been informed by the Archivists at the Library of the Palace of the Elenaran, that an examination of the genealogical records of Lady Ecgwynn showed that she was only 14 years. As such, it was decided that her father, Angenlaf, would instead be nominated to receive the post until she came of age.
