Mohd Fazly Mazlan bin Tarmizi or Fazly Mazlan is a Matabese football player who plays for Daau Super League club Cheetahs XII and the Mataba national football team. Fazly was named Mataba's Golden Boy of The Year in 2013 following his stunning performances with Dauian club Warriors SC while overseas.
Starting his career as a left winger, Fazly has since played in multiple roles throughout his career, spanning from left wing back to right midfield, bossing the flanks.
Early career
Born in Pafle, Fazly started out with Pafle FC before applying to Pafle Institution for better education and sports facilities. He studied and played with Pafle Institution's football team before being signed by Warriors SC's youth team. Fazly was one of the standout players in the Warriors SC U21 side which won the Dauian U21 Super League.
Club career
Warriors SC
Following Fazly finishing his studies, he was picked up by Warriors Sports Club in the Seragaan West League, signing a 3 year deal from the 2011-12 season. Mazlan however started in the club's reserve side due to the overflow of players playing in the winger role where Fazly played. This forced Fazly to switch to a fullback and a wide midfielder.
Fazly would make his senior debut for the club in a 3-1 victory over Tashaka Landmine FC, with Fazly scoring a brace to secure the victory.
Mazlan would win his first personal award in his career with him winning the Matabese Golden Boy of The Year after a stunning second half of the season with him breaking into the Warriors SC first team and showing consistent improvement and performances.
Cezero Negrata
Fazly joined Cezero Negrata on a free transfer after he decided not to renew with Warriors.
Mazlan had his best time with Cezero as he kept racking up assists game by game and earned him a Player of The Month award during his first season with the club. However during his second season with the club, Fazly suffered major injuries respectively and was forced to be sidelined for most of the season.
He would return in full form for his third season and scored a record breaking 13 goals to send his team through to the Seragaan Super Cup finals and also winning himself the Southern Seragaan League golden boot for the knockout rounds.
Daau United II
Fazly would join the Orange's 2nd team for a mere Cr 2k fee from Cezero.
However Fazly would fail to break into the senior squad and spent most of his time training and playing with the reserve side. He has never made a senior apperance in his Daau United career.
Loan to Sultan FC
Following Fazly's request to be loaned out for gametime, an offer from Sultan FC was accepted and Fazly moved back to his home country after being away for more than 10 years. Fazly made his debut in a thrilling 2-2 draw to Pahmer FC where he scored a late brace to salvage a point for the Royals. His fine form continued as he would go on to score one more against Mataba Sailors and completed 12 league games for the club before returning to Daau.
Cheetahs XII
Fazly would sign for the developmental side as a senior designated player and would don the jersey number 27, signing for 2 seasons.
Style of play
Fazly is able to play on both flanks as a full-back, wing-back, wide midfielder, winger on both flanks as he has mastered all positions in his 11 year long career. He has also played striker during his Daau United II days when they had a striker shortage. Fazly is described as the jack of all trades as he is able to play in all positions and perform better than most who usually play there.
Mazlan also has been described to have a very creative flair in his game, finding pockets of space on the pitch and creating loads of chances for his teammates when needed. He also has a top sprint speed of 35.3 km/h as recorded by the Daau United team.
