Exercise Sovereign Anvil
Exercise Sovereign Anvil was a joint military exercise of the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie conducted in Oportia in III.1758 AN under the authority of Trans-Euran Command. The exercise was the first large-scale employment of the Oportian Territorial Defense Unit since the absorption of the Oportian Self-Defense Forces into the Federal Forces, and the first readiness certification conducted under the Force 1760 program. The consolidated System-2 Missile Complex air defense network was employed in the field for the first time during the exercise.
Background
The National Defense Authorization Act, 1755 carried enabling provisions for the absorption of the Oportian Self-Defense Forces into the Federal Forces, executed by the framework signed at Vanie on 9.XIII.1755 AN by Secretary of Defense Fred Strong and General Émile Fournier. The 28,000-strong Oportian ground force was reconstituted as a number of divisions within the Grand Army of the Federation, with re-vetting and re-attestation to the Crown running through 1756 AN.
Force 1760 set readiness sustainment and force integration among its objectives, requiring acceding territorial forces to be absorbed under a common doctrine and the force structure delivered by the Force 1752 initiative to be held at a high state of readiness. The same act had enacted the consolidation of four close-in air defense systems into the command and control network of the System-2 Missile Complex; the first consolidated brigade sets were fielded in 1757 AN.
Objectives
The exercise had three stated objectives: to certify the formations of the Oportian divisions at the force standard delivered under the Force 1752 initiative; to validate the operation of Oportian units under Federal Forces doctrine within the 512th Army; and to conduct the first field employment of the consolidated System-2 network across the operational footprint of a brigade.

Conduct
The exercise ran in two phases. The first phase was a field training exercise in which federalised Oportian formations of the newly constituted 512th Army, supported by the Oportian Squadron offshore, conducted various operational manoeuvres in line with the combined arms doctrine of the Raspur Pact. The second phase was a live-fire air defense serial in which the consolidated System-2 network was employed against target drones across a brigade frontage.
Evaluation was conducted by the Joint Warfare Analysis Center, which assessed formations against the Force 1752 standard. Two of the four Oportian battle groups met the full standard at first assessment; the remaining two certified after a follow-on training cycle completed in VII.1758 AN.
