The coat of arms of the (free) Elwynnese Republic is the heraldic symbol of Free Elwynn. It is divided into four fields:
- A green field, upon which a polar bear is standing. Polar bears have long been associated with Elwynn, particularly Hyperborea. The Ayreon-Kalirion family, which has ruled Elwynn in several periods, has a polar bear in its name (Kalir is Hyperborean for polar bear). The polar bear is also associated with the Holy Church of the Divine Icebear, which remains strong in Cimmeria.
- A black field, illuminated by the Star of Verion. The Verion family, of Elfinshi extraction, has long been associated with Elwynn.
- A dark blue field, upon which the White Stagg of Elwynn stands. The legend of the White Stagg (sometimes known as the Dead Stagg, as in the Order of the Dead Stagg) is a national story of Elwynn, and forms part of the mythos of the Elwynnese nation. The White/Dead Stagg is a symbol of the Elw people.
- A black field, with Mount Yaanek in the foreground. Mount Yaanek is a mountain in Hyperborea where it is said that the Goddess Elwynn lives. The mountain is featured on the coat of arms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion.
The coat of arms was designed by Eki Verion in 1696 and adopted by the provisional government of the free Elwynnese Republic following the end of the Second Elwynnese Civil War.
