Cantieri Navali Polari S.p.A. (Vegnian: Polar Naval Shipyards), commonly known as CNP, is a Vegnese shipbuilding company specializing in ice-class and polar vessels. Headquartered in Sancrus on the island of Falange, the company operates one of the northernmost major shipyards in Apollonia. CNP was founded in 1712 AN to build vessels capable of navigating the Northern Sea year-round. The company employs 1,240 workers at its Sancrus facility and reported revenues of 1.8 billion Rino in 1751 AN.
CNP has delivered 94 vessels since its founding, ranging from light ice-strengthened cargo ships to heavy polar icebreakers capable of continuous operation in 2.5-meter ice. The company's proprietary Falange Ice Hull design, developed in 1738 AN, features a double-acting hull that allows vessels to operate bow-first in open water and stern-first when breaking heavy ice, reducing fuel consumption by 18% compared to conventional icebreaker designs. CNP vessels serve in 12 national fleets and have logged over 4.2 million nautical miles in polar waters. The shipyard maintains a covered construction hall permitting year-round building regardless of weather, with two slipways capable of handling vessels up to 28,000 deadweight tonnes.
