Bakkaland ("land of slopes"; Lakkvian: Bakkamaa) is a Hurmu municipality in the central parts of the Lake District, population (1752) is 47,107 people. The municipality is located by the eastern shore of Lake Dawnuck. Clockwise, Bakkaland borders Eressea Rannik (to the north), Eldalandeð, Vestra Laastrand, Norton, Suðrvatnum (to the south), Eldjaanion, Liderai, and Silmahall (to the west).
This rural municipality's main settlements are Helgahus, Vammaflooð, Almorby, Trihus, and Lumusa.
