Bahnkorps

The Bahnkorps is a corps within the logistical service of the Lanzerwalder Volksarmee that is tasked with the military use of the railways of the Lanzerwald Republic. It moves military goods across the railroad network, it protects the railroad network against sabotage and it maintains and operates the railroad network in times of war. The Bahnkorps can use the assets of the Volksbahn in cases of emergency but has its own locomotives and rolling stock for regular logistical operations. The corps is not designed to operate in an offensive manner and does not use railroad guns or heavily armoured trains. The main base of the Bahnkorps is located in Elfinschenheide, close to the Elfinschenheide Military Storage in Walstadt and Light.

The Bahnkorps operates two types of locomotives. The WMF-Baureihe 206 diesel locomotive is the standard locomotive, a steam engine from Osthügel Motorenwerke, the OMW Schwere Dampflokomotive is used as a backup locomotive which can be used if diesel becomes scarce during times of war. The steam engines are also used for training new recruits to the Bahnkorps. The locomotives of the Bahnkorps have some protection against small arms but are not designed to be used in an active combat situation.
