Ayreonist greenism

From MicrasWiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Ayreonist greenism is an ideology, derived from Ayreonism, that propagates for an end to The Green. It is thus the imperative of every state, especially Ayreonist-aligned states, to ensure that, in the words of Elijah Ayreon, "the Green must be conquered" (see E. Ayreon (1597) The Moral Obligations of the Righteous Body-Politic, Eliria: Publishing Company of the People's Academy of Elwynn).

The ideology of Ayreonist greenism is derived from the notion that the Green is a source of anarchy (in Ayreonist lexis, anomie), organized criminality, and misery for most people living in the Green. It is thus the responsibility and, indeed moral imperative, of all states to save the people of the Green from lack of proper governance by annexing ("conquering") the Green whenever possible.

In Hurmu, Ayreonist greenism is part of the ideology of the United Ayreonist–Traditionalist Faction and the Edasi Hurmu party. Ayreonism greenism is also found in the Elianist Party of Normark, and in various parties of Nidaros.

Criticisms

Ayreonist greenism is criticised for creating heterogenous states with various ethnicities having to co-exist. Even in such states, structural racism and discrimination are ripe, and these states are not immune the problems that Ayreonist greenism attempts to solve by conquering the Green.

Pan-Greenism

Main article: Pan-Greenism

Pan-Greenism presents a fundamental critique of Ayreonist greenism, opposing its imperative that "the Green must be conquered" as a form of neo-imperialism that disregards the autonomy and self-determination of stateless groups and communities living within the unclaimed territories known as The Green. Pan-Greenists argue that Ayreonist greenism's pursuit of annexing these lands under the guise of ending anarchy and organized criminality fails to acknowledge the underlying issues of exploitation and structural violence perpetuated by established states. Instead, Pan-Greenism advocates for a unified and autonomous confederation of the Green, emphasizing solidarity among the dispossessed to resist external encroachments and to foster a self-governed, peaceful coexistence free from the domination of expansionist states. This critique positions Pan-Greenism as not only a rejection of Ayreonist greenism's expansionist tenets but also as a broader indictment of the moral justifications used to legitimize the conquest and subjugation of the Green's diverse peoples.
