The Aemilian passport is a passport that is issued by the chancellery of the Confoederatio Aemilia to citizens of the jurisdictions of the confederation upon request. For the request to be processed, the applicant needs to present themselves to the offices of the chancellery in either Taktwinkel, Sankt Rosa or Murder with the identity card of the jurisdiction they are a citizen of. A background check is done to ensure that the passport is only issued to people who are considered to be of irreproachable behaviour and who will not embarrass the confederation in befriended countries. In principle, possession of a passport is not necessary for travel to Xäiville Convention nations or the Mondosphere, only an identity card issued by one of the three jurisdictions. In practice, possession of a passport makes travel to these countries easier as the lack of a passport can sometimes raise suspicion that someone was unable to pass the necessary background checks.
