The Aceso Cross, formerly-called the Medical Cross, was established by HRM King August Charles II in 2004. The medal recognizes Gotzers who have been wounded in the course of duty with the Royal Army or the Royal Navy. In an exceptional case, the medal may be awarded to a Gotzer who is employed in a civilian role with the Royal Government.
History
The Aceso Cross was originally known as the Medical Cross when the honour was first proclaimed on March 16, 2004. The name was changed effective January 1, 2010, when the Kingdom returned from the Hiatus of 2007 to 2010.
It has been awarded only once, in an exceptional case to The Duke of Altamore, who while working feverishly as Royal Chancellor in the fall of 2004 fell ill with a serious bout of pneumonia that resulted in his hospitalization.
