The Abbey Chinon is a stone cathedral and sanctuary that is a holy site that served as a refuge for Saint Joan Darcy during her campaign for the Kingdom of Bosworth. It still serves as an active place of worship by the Church of the Holy Lance.
History
While there is no definitive date as to when the abbey was first constructed, archaeological evidence suggests that the initial structure was a much smaller church, probably built by Britannic missionaries seeking to establish a foothold in Syrah. This would place construction around 1400-1410 AN. The church survived changes in the island's sovereignty under several different banners, each successive monarch adding onto the structure. The most significant changes came in the mid-1500s
