Philippe de Montreux (Alexandrian: Philippe de Montreux; Martino: Felipe de Montreux) (born 1684 AN) is a New Alexandrian cardinal and the current Chamberlain of the See of the Autocephalous Nazarene Church of Alexandria. Born in Punta Santiago to a prominent Alexandrian merchant family, de Montreux was ordained in 1708 AN and served in various pastoral and administrative roles before his elevation to the cardinalate in 1738 AN. He was appointed Chamberlain of the See by Archbishop Boniface VII in 1745 AN, a position that placed him in charge of administering the church's temporal affairs during the sede vacante following Boniface VII's death on 24.XV.1751 AN. Known for his administrative competence and conciliatory temperament, de Montreux has emerged as a candidate in the 1752 conclave, where he represents a moderate position emphasizing institutional continuity, church unity, and respect for Nouvelle Alexandrie's patronage role while balancing tradition with pastoral adaptation.
