Democratic Republic of East Floria
The Democratic Republic of East Floria (DREF) is a self-proclaimed breakaway state established in VIII.1744 AN during the Second Florian Civil War. Controlling the eastern territories of Mesoun, Outer Mesoun, Southern Ontario, Pentucky, Southcliff, the Temple Islands, and Sri Alba, the DREF was formed following the "Crimson Dawn of 1744" communist uprising led by the Revolutionary Front for the Liberation of Eastern Floria (RFLEF) and the East Florian Workers' Front. The state established its capital in Dongrad, Mesoun, and claimed legitimacy based on long-standing political, economic, and cultural differences from western Floria.
Under the leadership of Ivan Markov, the DREF established a socialist government structure emphasizing workers' control and collective ownership, while facing international isolation with no official recognition. The establishment of the DREF represented a significant territorial division in Apollonia, with the UPR-led Florian government in Northcliff continuing to assert sovereignty over the eastern regions while military operations between the factions remained ongoing throughout 1744 AN.
