Rehabilitation Office (Benacian Union)
Established in the first month of 1734 AN, as the need to replace battlefield casualties and skilled labour billets in the war economy impressed itself upon the High Presidium of the Benacian Union, the Rehabilitation Office, staffed by personnel from the Commission for the Sacred Treasury attached to the Benacian Censorate, was formed with the purpose of sifting through the ranks of protected Persons to identify suitable individuals for restoration to the condition of meritorious subjecthood on the bottom rank of the Table of Grades and Ranks of the Benacian Union in return for useful service.
Bureaus of the office would be established initially in each governorate of the Union-State and subsequently in each bailiwick of the realms thereafter as the year of 1734 wore on.
In regions with historically low numbers of protected persons, such as Ransenar, the effort focused upon identifying suitable prisoners to impress into service for war work.
