History
Between 1702 AN and 1703 AN, a number of Auxiliary Labour Battalions were formed by the Benacian Labour Reserve to receive an anticipated glut of Umraid prisoners who had refused to sign the Union Covenant and offer sacrifice to the Highest Divinity. In the end this surge did not materialise as the majority were instead deported to Transprinitica under a deal with Hurmu, and by 1716 AN the surviving Umraid detainees had been consolidated into a the Umraid Auxiliary Service Regiment which was transferred to the Benacian Union Defence Force for special tasks.
By 1729 AN, the regiment had come to comprise of Umraids who had voluntarily submitted to the Union Covenant. During 1730 AN and 1731 AN the regiment rerolled as a specialist mortar unit.
In 1732 AN the regiment was designated as a Chemical Mortar Regiment and transferred to the Iridian Isles for further specialist training.
