The Regent of the Lakes is the supreme representative of the sovereignty of the Order of the Holy Lakes in the Realm of the Lakes (Lake District) of Hurmu. The position was created in 1720 and was held by Patrik Djupvik until his assassination in 1729.
In all practical senses, the position is the head of state of the Realm. It is a largely ceremonial role, with some reserve powers. The Regent plays a role in government formation, proroguing and dissolving the Thing, and in promulgating laws.
