Jarl of Varmland

The Jarl of Varmland is the chief executive of Varmland. Usually elected for four-year terms, though until 1994 they were three-year term. If there is a resignaiton of the Jarl during their term, then a new election is held to fill the position for the remainder of that term. This has occurred in 1686, 1696, and 1721.
- Ole Granvald, 1685–1686 (elected 1685, assassinated by Vanic conspirators in 1686)
- Yngve Karlsen, 1686–1691 (elected unopposed in 1686; elected in regular election in 1688)
- Karl Bildemann, 1691–1694 (elected 1691)
- Yngve Karlsen, 1694–1696 (second tenure; elected 1694; resigned 1696)
- Jørgen Petersen, 1696–1706 (elected 1696, 1698, 1702)
- Frederik Renvald, 1706–1714 (elected 1706, 1710)
- Stefan Løken, 1714–present (elected 1714, 1718, resigned 1721)
- Magda Andersdatter, 1721–present (elected 2021)
The next elections are scheduled for 1722, 1726, 1730, etc.
