Hurmudan fishing fleet
The Hurmudan fishing fleet is a major reservoir of maritime manpower and economic strength for Hurmu.
There were around 12,700 fishermen in 1719 AN, up 15 percent since 1709 AN. Of these, 5,800 were based in the Lake District, 1,100 in Lontinien, 5,200 in the Keltia territories of Amaland, Karnamark, and Samhold, and 600 former Hurmudan nationals holding licences issued by the District of Moorland and the District of the Warring Islands. Part-time fishermen accounted for 20 percent of the total, a proportion that has changed little over the last decade.
As of 1719 AN, the fisheries fleet comprised of 5,047 10–30 metre vessels and 1,430 31–100 metre vessels. 40 so-called "super trawlers" (100–500 metre length) are registered with the Ministry of Fisheries.
