Mehrshahr Special Economic Zone
History
Inspired by the International Mandate for the Settlements in Apollonia, and seeking elusive profits in light of the upheaval caused by the Third Euran War, some entrepreneurial, disaffected factors, as well as a few legitimate businessmen duly-supported by certain entrenched interests as well as by the moribund Constancia-Suren Chamber of Commerce, which was in dire need of lucre, influence, and relevance, by dint of diplomacy and the liberal application of legal tender, managed to secure a decree establishing a Special Economic Zone, to be under the absolute sovereignty of the Suren Confederacy, but autonomously governed in the manner of the foreign barbarians and in accordance with their laws and cultural practices.
Governance
The legal document reposed the governance of the Special Economic Zone in a Governor and Court of Commissioners, in whom all plenipotentiary power was vested. Ulrich von Hutten, Ahmeras Dekalion, Andrea Pandes, Aniketos Pachis and Isabella Merrick I "Genitrix" comprised the inaugural Court, with Ahmeras Dekalion as the first Governor.
