Voorpost

Located on the Westernmost island in the island chain known as the 'Wilhelm Isles' the city of Voorpost was established in 809 WG, as the capitol of the short-lived Republic of Liga, a nation primarily remembered for unsuccessfully attempting to introduce a complex system of banking intended to rival the Small Currency and Unified Economy. Following the collapse of the government of Liga, Voorpost became the headquarters of a number of notorious Keltian pirates, who's criminal efforts tended to target ships traveling along New Zimian shipping lanes, between Southern Keltia and Eastern Eura. In 836 WG, the New Zimian War League deployed nearly 5,000 soldiers to the island, in order to rid Voorpost of its pirate communities, and to provide aid in the development of infrastructure and civil services on the island. Later the same year, Voorpost was annexed into the New Zimian Outer Realms, which are managed by the New Zimian War League. Today, the island serves as a rest and refueling station for ships making the journey across the Northern Sea of Storms.
