The coat of arms of Whales is the heraldic achievement of the Prince of Whales (armiger) in right of the Principality of Whales. Officially adopted in 1696 after several other options were considered, it bases itself off the flag of Whales (now a banner of arms). As such, the same colours as on the flag are officially used, though the heraldic language keeps them traditionally as argent (silver), gules (red), and vert (green).
