2012 Napian Serie A

The Napian Serie A is the only football league in North Antarctica, run by the NVMFA. The league currently involves eight teams playing 14 games in each season. The 2012 season began in April and is expected to finish in August, however a new league system will be introduced after the conclusion of the first season.League matches are generally played on Saturdays.

History

The Napian Serie A was founded in late November 2011 as the top-tier league for NAPI and the NVMFA. This started an initial league of 8 teams officiated by the NVMFA. The league formed part of the 2012 Four Nations. However, it plans to leave Four Nations after the first season.

Expansion

Plans to expand the league for the 2013 season have been announced. Sixteen new teams will enter the competition, creating a league of 24 teams.The following teams will be added to the league in 2013:
