Lucerne is a small island situated off the northern coast of North Antarctica. The island is a dependency of Mercury.

History
The dependency of Lucerne was founded in mid-2012 by Mercurian traders wanting to set up trading links with North Antarctica.
Politics
Lucerne elects a 40 member Lucerne Council, which sends two members, a Governor and Deputy Governor, to the Mercury Parliament.
Geography
The island is located just off the northern coast of North Antarctica, inside the southern ice sheet.
Culture
Lucerne's culture is mainly based on social gatherings after market trading is finished. Some citizens enjoy playing football, with the island having two clubs.
