The People's Republic of New Riverina is a micronation in Apollonia's north. They are a democratic socialist society where the state exists to serve the working class and the means of production is owned and run by the people. The national sport is Association Football and the league aims to be one of the world's best some day. The country is currently led by the nation's founder James Paladin, the son of former Vyktoryan King James II. He has been appointed by the People's Assembly, a unicameral legislature with four-year terms. The country experiences some of the best income equality in the world and manages to be self-sufficient thanks to significant advances in food production, green energy and other sciences.
History
New Riverina started as a project to create a new state somewhere in either Apollonia or Eura. The project was envisioned by former Vyktoryan King James II's son, James Paladin, who grew up reading socialist books imported from Hoenn while he was living there as a refugee from the first and second dissolutions of the Vyktoryan Commonwealth. He later managed to gain some capital after James Ii's death and decided to take action in AN 1670 by sourcing some land from the green and working on the identity for his new project. The project was officially announced in AN 1673 and a reservation claim made later that year.
Demographics
New Riverina consists mainly of the ex-Vyktoryans who fled to various nations after the fall of the Vyktoryan Commonwealth, though some Hoennese migrants are also helping with the building of the nation. Common names for citizens include James, Joshua, Kate, and Alice. The average Riverinan is considered to be a 35-year-old female.
Sport
New Riverina is relatively small on the sports front, but much effort is being placed into allowing tbe nation to be a world power in Association Football, Ice Hockey, Rugby and Tennis. A planned Albury Open is set to be a Grand Slam on the planned FMT World Tour. Another tournament known as the Wagga Wagga International is intended to be a lead-in to the Albury Open.

New Riverina on the world stage is isolationist apart from the aspiration to be an eventual MTO member. They have plans to pursue relations with Senya, Craitland and Natopia.
