Fangzhu Castle

Fangzhu Castle is a castle near Silafucheng, Jingdao. It was built during the 1673 Eastern Expansion as a temporary seat of government for the Silafubian district. The castle was decommissioned in 1680 after the local government moved to a permanent location. The castle was sold to a wealthy Jingdaoese merchant in 1681, who upgraded the interior to make it more luxurious. In 1687 the neighbouring Kingdom of Krasnocoria collapsed and trade opportunities vanished with it. The Silafubian district regained possession over the castle as the merchant who owned the castle had declared bankruptcy.
