The Nemesis-class of destroyers was developed for the maritime branches of the Western Natopian Demesnial Forces. Six ships of this class were ordered from the West Bay NDF Dockyards.
The Nemesis-class destroyer is 127 meters long and has a beam of 12 meters. It was proposed to be armed with a variety of weapons, including missiles, guns, and torpedoes, with the intention of making it a formidable opponent in naval combat. These would however be subsequently determined by weapon availability as each ship of the class was fitted out.
The Nemesis-class destroyer was intended to be a versatile warship, capable of performing a variety of missions, including air defense, anti-submarine warfare, and surface warfare. It was planned to also be equipped with advanced sensors and communications systems, that would allow the type to operate effectively in littoral environments. Again, these would be determined by availability at the fitting out stage.
The six ships are, as of 1718 AN, at various stages of construction and completion, and are scheduled to be delivered over the next few years.
The Nemesis-class destroyer would be the latest addition to the Western Natopian Demesnial Forces' fleet, and is expected to play a crucial role in defending the maritime interests of the peripheral territories of reunified Natopia.
By virtue of being assigned to the demesnial fleets, the ships of the Nemesis-class are expected to be primarily tasked with low and medium intensity maritime stabilisation operations, where they are supposed to provide sea-to-land tactical fire support, counter-piracy patrols, and support of punitive expeditionary forces.
