The Evagati Corps (Pr. ïa Ushurvans Uihmanz "The Ranger Corps", RL. Dze Dekošyre "The Army that Ranges") is an elite branch of the Shirerithian Imperial Forces. It was created in 1711 AN through the absorption, restructuring, and integration of the Ŝḥenĉeł'yh under the authority of the Imperial Commission for Defence. Previously, the Ŝḥenĉeł'yh had acted as the private army of Kaiseress Salome and operating in conjunction with conventional forces.
The Evagati are trained and equipped to serve as a rapid deployment light infantry force, reconnaissance, and asymmetrical warfare, and special operations. A life guard unit also protects key members of the Imperial Household, a duty shared with the Palatini Corps.
Recruited predominantly from Laq and Para-Laq Shirerithians, the Evagati Corps' day language is Dolorbze.

Uniform and Equipment
The Evagati Corps continues the uniform style of the Ŝḥenĉeł'yh, in which camouflage battledress is preferred for most occasions and a field kit designed for individuated combat patrol. For formal occasions, limited to court appearances, a black version of the Imperial Forces Service Dress uniform has been introduced. Members and veterans of the Evagati Corps are granted special privilege to wear a Laqi dagger at all times, even at court.
All members of the Evagati Corps are issued an M1610L rifle as their primary offensive weapon and an M1525 semi-automatic pistol or M1486 revolver as a standard sidearm. Special training in heavy weaponry is regularly conducted, but these are issued for field use by their unit's Weapons Master depending on the mission.
