Established in 1708 AN as a landing strip for light cargo aircraft supporting the Army of Karnamark, the Ny-Zanzibar Cantonments Aerodrome was iteratively expanded to the point where it became the largest airport in the district of Karnamark and the site of the only runways with sufficient length to receive heavy cargo-passenger aircraft. Formerly controlled by the Army of Karnamark, a private military corporation contracted by the Hurmu Peace Corps, the airport was occupied by forces loyal to the Senate of Hurmu during the 1719–1720 Hurmu civil conflict.
Being attached to the cantonments of the Volunteer Grenadier Brigade "Nordstorm in Ny-Zanzibar, the aerodrome remains subject to the control and oversight of the paramilitary force. The aerodrome is nonetheless also host to a flight school organised under the Holy Lakes Air Training Plan and can receive guest units from the Hurmu Fyrð if circumstances require.
