Wolfgang Handelsbach, officer of the Civil Executive in Chryse, with corresponding rank in the N&H national sector party of the city. Appointed to the position of director of the Benacian Philharmonic Orchestra in the first month of 1724 AN, following the removal from that office of Alfonse Tanner.
Handelsbach came to the role as a relative unknown, having previously served as an administrator in the Civil Executive of the city. In favour of his appointment was a study of musicology undertaken in the Benacian Academy, and an audience with the High Commissioner of Chryse at the Palace of Botha, where he had performed to her satisfaction.
