Durge

The Durge were an alien race who, many thousands of years ago, enslaved the ancient people of Normark. Experimenting with the relatively primitive humans, they instilled them with exceptional longevity, superior physical strength and mental acuity. They were eventually driven off by their own creations, the race that became known as the Norse. Today, the descendants of these people now inhabit Normark, Ostland, Elwynn and, to a small degree, Zeed. This lore has led to a well-justified culture of xenophobia amongst all the kin of the Norse.
