The Steerswick Infantry Regiment (Cibolan Saxon: Stierschweigisches Infanterie-Regiment) is an infantry regiment of the Steerswick Army. It consists of three battalions:
- 1st Battalion, in the city of Steerswick;
- 2nd Battalion, in the city of Steermouth;
- 3rd Battalion, in the city of Steerhead.
The regimental headquarters is in the city of Steerswick.
History
The regiment traces its origins to the 7th Lichguard Battalion Group "Steermark", raised in 1593 AN by the Duke of Rossheim. In III.1598 AN, the battalion became the nucleus of the Kingdom of Leichenberg's 2nd Lich Grenadier Regiment, which was renamed the Lich Grenadier Regiment No. 2 (1st Stiermark) in VIII.1598 AN and finally the 1st Stiermark Grenadier Regiment (Lich Grenadier Regiment No. 2) in XIV.1598 AN.
Redesignated the Stiermark Regiment in XI.1608 AN, the regiment was belatedly transferred to the Steerian army in IV.1626 AN, where it continued to serve until the kingdom's collapse in 1660 AN.
It was revived under its present name by the Grand Duchy of Steerswick on 9.I.1703 AN.
