The Napian Serie A is the top tier football league in North Antarctica, run by the NVMFA. The league currently involves eight teams playing 14 games in each season, however after the inaugural season it will expand to twelve teams playing 24 games. The 2012 season began in April and is expected to finish in August, however a new league system will be introduced after the conclusion of the first season.League matches are generally played on Saturdays.
History
The Napian Serie A was founded in late November 2011 as the top-tier league for NAPI and the NVMFA. This started an initial league of 8 teams officiated by the NVMFA. The league formed part of the 2012 Four Nations. However, it will leave the leave Four Nations after the first season. For the second season, the Serie A will be contested by twelve teams.

Expansion
Plans to expand the league for the 2013 season have been announced. Six new teams will enter the competition and the bottom two of the 2012 season will be relegated, creating a league of 12 teams.The following teams will be added to the league in 2013:
