The MHL World Championships is the highest level of international Ice Hockey competition organised by the MHL, the governing body of the sport on Micras.
The tournament is played once a year, being competed for by twelve qualified nations.
Qualification
The six nations competing in the MHL automatically qualify for the competition, with the remaining six places being filled through qualifiers.
Format
The six MHL nations are put into the 'A' Conference, and the other teams are in the 'B' Conference. The top four teams from the 'A' Conference, and the top two from the 'B' Conference advance to the knockout stages.
Squads
All competing nations for each tournament are required to name a roster of players. Competing nations have to name a roster of 2 goaltenders and 14 skaters. Teams have to use the numbers 1 to 16, with the number 1 jersey being reserved for goaltenders.
