Chantiers de Louisville is a shipbuilding company in Louisville in the Lanzerwald Republic that was founded in 1732 as a joint venture of the Waffenschmiederei Ludwigshafen, Osthügel Motorenwerke and the Classis of the Confoederatio Aemilia in order to restore the capability of the confederation to produce its own warships after the loss of Altdorf Schiffbau, that performed that role during the era of the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen.
Vaisseau-frégate 1740
In X.1734, the Chantiers de Louisville received funding from the Aemilian Senate to develop a class of frigates for the Classis of the Confoederatio Aemilia. Estimates of the Vaisseau-frégate 1740, as the class is to be called, is that the final ship will have an approximate displacement of 2,500 tonnes full load, will be 70 meters long and have a speed of 25 knots. The ship will be outfitted with various weapons systems, manufactured by Waffenschmiederei Ludwigshafen, among which a multiple-rocket launch system, a direct-fire gun, autocannons, and torpedo tubes. Engines will be provided by Osthügel Motorenwerke. The goal of the project is to start production in 1740, and have the first ship launched in 1742.
