In the Lanzerwaldian period, the neighbourhood was mostly focused on Oudorp, as Altdorf was called then. Since the fall of Sankt Ludwigshafen, the creation of a border between Ludwiggerdam and Altdorf caused the neighbourhood to refocus on Altstadt, the new name of Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen.
