The Special Task Force of the Confluence, established 14.IV.1731 AN, was an independent task orientated formation of the General Inspectorate of Benacia Command. At its inception it was mandated to coordinate the unique security situation of the Elwynn River where the branches of the Blue and White Elwynn merge to give rise to the Red Elwynn, which continues down the remaining length of Benacia to the Gates of the Guttuli in the far south. The region of the confluence marks the operational boundaries of the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Banner Groups of Benacia Command and was as such a strategically important location for the north-south riverine trade along the Elwynn, as well as a vital lynchpin in the road and rail networks linking the continent.

The inaugural commander of the Special Task Force was the Grand Magistra Malia Morell, an adept of the Magisters-Carnifex recently returned from Nouvelle Alexandrie.
