The Mesoun Crisis is a low level conflict in Mesoun that begun in 1724 AN. Though majority of the conflict has been fought in Mesoun violence has spilled over into other parts of the mainland.
The conflict began when Mesounese separatists, the Mesoun Republican League, hired Shadow Group mercenaries to ambush and assassinate Florian President Isabelle Chopin in a bid to gain independence by force.
Background
In 1724 AN Shadow Group mercenaries ambushed and assassinated Florian President Isabelle Chopin who was on her way to a party meeting in a bid to gain independence by force.
After a Federal Department of Intelligence investigation it was discovered that a Mesounese separatist Group called the Mesoun Republican League was behind the attack. The Government threatened the MRL to stand down however they refused and after the Florian referendum on Raspur Pact membership and Federal election the Mesoun Republican League, with support from Shadow Group, started an offensive on multiple settlements in Mesoun creating chaos in the region and eventual intervention of the Confederate States Armed Forces.
