The Southcape and Southmoorland Infantry Regiment (Cibolan Saxon: Südkap und Südmoorland Infanterie-Regiment) is an infantry regiment of the Steerswick Army with its regimental headquarters is located at the Southcape Fortress.
History
The regiment was raised on 20.X.1708 AN and originally consisted of four battalions. A fifth battalion was formed in IX.1711 AN following the annexation of eastern Southmoorland, and a further three when it transitioned to its present structure in 1716-7 AN.
Current organisation
The regiment currently consists of eight battalions. The first two operate as mechanised infantry with 3rd Mechanised Brigade; the remaining six are home defence battalions assigned to 4th Territorial Brigade.
