The Sultan is the ceremonial head-of-state of Kurum Ash-Sharqia. Salah Ad-Din Al-Lusirni is the nation's first Sultan. He was offered the crown in {{AN|09|2021}} because of his outstanding tenure as [[president of New Batavia]]. The reigning sultan appoints a crown prince from within his house, who will ascend the throne on the sultan's abdication or demise. In {{AN|10|2021}} he married Batavian princess [[Elisabeth Asara|Elisabeth Asara des Vinandy]]. As a consequence of that marriage, he automatically became a [[Order of the Holy Lakes|knight of the Holy Lakes in Hurmu]]. | |||

The Sultan
The Sultan is the ceremonial head-of-state of Kurum Ash-Sharqia. Salah Ad-Din Al-Lusirni is the nation's first Sultan. He was offered the crown in 1700 AN because of his outstanding tenure as president of New Batavia. The reigning sultan appoints a crown prince from within his house, who will ascend the throne on the sultan's abdication or demise. In 1701 AN he married Batavian princess Elisabeth Asara des Vinandy. As a consequence of that marriage, he automatically became a knight of the Holy Lakes in Hurmu.
