2018 FMRL World Cup qualification

The 2018 FMRL World Cup qualification rounds make up the qualifying competition for the 2018 FMRL World Cup, the sixth tournament of its kind. Two nations were given automatic berths in the competition, Birgeshir and Senya qualified by virtue of their finishing positions in the previous tournament.

Format

The first stage of qualification is via the continental championships, from which, the three champions will qualify directly to the World Cup.

The second stage will be played over a number of regional round-robin groups, and is open to all members of the FMRL. The lowest-ranked sides in each region will enter the preliminary round. The highest-ranked teams in this round will advance to the main qualifying rounds. In the ARL region, three teams will qualify for the World Cup, from the KRL, two teams and from the SRL region, one team will qualify. The next-best teams will advance to the repechage.
