The Shadow Council of Nouvelle Alexandrie is a thirteen-member executive council that shadows the federal government of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie, the Council of State.
The Shadow Council have no actual executive power: their purpose is to produce alternative policies to the Secretaries of the Council of State.
The first shadow council was appointed by Alfons Dandela of the Federal Consensus Party, after the New Alexandrian general election, 1718. Before, opposition spokespersons were in effect 'shadows'.
