Banner of the Grand Army of Ransenar.

The Grand Army of Ransenar is the principal land warfare force of the [[Ransenar}Kingdom of Ransenar]]. As of 1673, the Grand Army comprises just over 115,283 trained regular (full-time) personnel and just over 56,000 trained reserve (part-time) personnel.

Beginning as a fraternal organisation composed of the membership of various militias cobbled together in the Goldshirian county of Ran in response to the Kalirion Fracture, the Grand Army would begin to receive logistical, material, technical, and training assistance from the Eastern Banner Group of Benacia Command during late 1673 AN, transitioning from a rustic rabble into a semi-professional light infantry force over the course of the subsequent year.

History

  • Background: Imperial Forces in Goldshire, IDP party organizations, regional IDP offices, law enforcement, local city guards, militias, and paramilitary organizations coalesce into the Grand Army of Ransenar.
  • Advising from ESB, Raspur Pact's Benacia Command. Military training and equipment begin pouring into Modernization & Training Program.
  • Fighting the Revolutionary Army of Crisco.
  • Securing Ransenari borders.
  • Tensions with Iron Company.

Purpose and Doctrine

  • Purpose of the Grand Army;
  • Ransenari Reunification;
  • Defense of the Queen and the Realm;
  • Border Integrity.

Structure and Organization

The basic organization of the Grand Army followed the familiar pattern of Raspur Pact land forces:

  • Corps – 57,600
  • Legion – 7,200
  • Regiment – 1,200
  • Squadron – 120
  • Troop– 40

For administrative purposes, Ransenar was subdivided into military departments that covered a defined region, and which included responsibility for military depots and installations therein, and for the army formations within their jurisdiction - including field armies.

Field armies would in turn generally be formed by the mustering of three or more corps for the purpose of conducting a campaign. Corps and field armies would be commanded by magisters, differentiated by the Praeta translations of their rank titles; Frainan Uihmanzis for a corps commander, and Frainan Hohmin for the commander of a field army.

Suppliers

As a participant in the Raspur Pact the Grand Army of Ransenar is entitled to allocations of equipment made directly, at the discretion of the alliance's Joint Military Council, from the Allied Production Matrix. Benacia Command, the theatre level headquarters for Pact forces on the Benacian continent can also authorise direct transfers of equipment from arsenals under the control of the Black Legions.

Major equipment transfers, particularly of small arms, mortars, heavy machine-guns, and vehicles, began at the turn of the year from 1673 to 1674.
