The People's Revolutionary Armed Forces (Commonspeak: Folks Revolusonarë Armed Förses) is an Aerlan terrorist organization founded in 1733 AN by Emil Pachad as an armed breakaway of the People's Revolutionary Communist Party.

History

In early 1732 AN, after a particularly rousing anti-Government speech at the Auburn Arts College, PRCPA leader Constantine Veracek was arrested and charged sedition, receiving a 20 year prison sentence. After Veracek's arrest the vice-chairmen of the party, James Lewiston, took charge. Lewiston was much less of a radical then Veracek was, preferring a legitimate rise to power via democratic means. This caused a rift in the party, with many of the more radical members holding a strong distaste for Lewiston's moderate policies. The chair of the Auburn Branch of the party, Emil Pachad, responded to the arrest by creating an armed breakaway faction to "create a real armed struggle against the oppressive regime of the traitorous Noursala bourgeois."

After Veracek's death lead to the effective death of the PRCPA as a relevant organization, most of its members left to form small regional groups. The more radical members of the group went on to join the PRAF, who quickly began to spread a rumor that Veracek had been murdered in his cell by police acting under government orders. In an online message, they declared "The next years in Aerlan history will see the downfall of the criminal regime that has murdered countless political prisoners. Comrade Veracek's martyrdom will not in vain, we will liberate Aerla by the gun and bayonet."

Auburn NationalBank Robbery

In early 1734.4 AN, two masked gunmen attempted to stage a robbery of an Auburn branch of NationalBank. The two gunmen walked into the bank and fired several rounds into the air and ordered the occupants of the bank to the ground. They then forced the bank manager, at gunpoint, to open the vault. Once inside, they proceeded to steal roughly Ƒ550,000 in bills. Unbeknownst to the robbers, hidden within the stacks of cash were several dye packs that exploded when the gunmen left the bank, rendering the cash unusable.

After dumping their now useless cash in the bank's parking lot, the robbers were then engaged in an hour-long shootout with Auburn Police. In the end, one gunman was killed and another one surrendered to law enforcement. Although police initially believed this was a simple bank robbery, closer inspection of the dead gunman's jacket revealed a PRAF patch. The PRAF would later claim responsibility for the attack in a post to their website (of which could only be accessed by the use of proxies to bypass censorship by the country's ISPs).

Assassination of Louis Bose

Two SSD agents inspect the scene of the assassination.

On the night of 12.XI.1736 AN at approximately 9:30 PM local time, the Assemblyman for Andersonville Parish (a suburb of Noursala), Louis Bose, along with his secretary and driver Vivian Summers were shot through the windshield of their car by an assassin wielding a snubnosed revolver. Bose and Summers had enjoyed a late dinner at the Weisenburger Brauhaus, an upscale eatery located in downtown Noursala from where they were stalked by their would-be assassin, a 23 year-old plumber named Julius Dietmer, who sat across the dining room from the pair.

After Bose and Summers finished their food, Dietmer exited the building without paying his bill and loitered near the entrance in anticipation of the pair leaving the building. After the two exited the restaurant and got into their vehicle, Dietmer stepped out in front of the car and unloaded all 5 shots in his revolver before running into a nearby alleyway where a getaway vehicle had been placed. After the Criminal Police were able to cordon off the area around the bullet-ridden car, State Security Directorate detectives arrived on scene. The case was then officially handed over to the SSD, as was the protocol with political assassinations. Both Bose and Summers were declared dead at the scene.

Law enforcement were to identify the license plate number off of witness statements and CCTV cameras. After the vehicle was found abandoned near Lake Noursala, investigators were able to find the revolver involved in the assassination stuffed inside the foam padding of the back seat. The firearm was revealed to be registered to one Julius Detmer, who's apartment was subsequently raided by the SSD on the 15th. After a thorough search, a "target list" was found in a briefcase along with Ƒ35,000 in cash. Among those on the list included many cabinet ministers including Minister of the Interior Victor Mara, Minister of Justice Brett Mohanan, Minister of Labor Ludwig von Heinzenbusch, Commissioner of the Criminal Police Ludwig von Seylitz-Meringhoff, and SSD Director William Alfe. Dietmers would be arraigned in the District Court of Noursala on 2 counts of first-degree murder and one count of domestic terrorism.

The National Assembly held a week of recess following the assassination, with President Basil Fitzroy ordering all flags to be flown at half-mast for the month.
